 Beginner Introduction to Alkaline diet.

Beside Ketogenic diet, Mediterranean diet, macrobiotic diet and intermittent fasting. There is another form of diet which also claimed to be beneficial for human health.

Alkaline diet is a form of diet that is based on the idea that by replacing acid-forming foods with alkaline foods, your health will improved. The practitioner of this diet even claim that Alkaline diet can help prevent serious diseases like cancer.

Alkaline diet or acid-alkaline diet or also called alkaline ash diet, is a form of diet that based on the idea that the food you consume could alter the pH value of your body. For those who don't know pH value is the measurement of acidity or alkalinity. Human metabolism or the process of converting food into energy is sometimes to fire. With both involving a chemical reaction which breaks down a solid mass. But the chemical reaction in human body occurs in a slow and controlled manner. When something is burned, there is a residue or ash that left behind. Similar with this, the foods that we eat also leave an ash or residue called metabolic waste. This residue can be alkaline, neutral or acidic. The practitioner of this diet claims that this metabolic waste can affect your body's acidity directly. This means that when the foods that you eat result in acidic ash, your blood become more acidic. On the contrary, when you consume foods that result in alkaline ash, your blood will be more alkaline.

Based on this acid-ash theory, acidic ash is believed to result in your body more vulnerable to illness and disease, while alkaline ash on the other hand is considered more protective and make your body more resistance towards disease. According to this logic by eating more alkaline foods, your body should be able to "alkalize" or more alkaline which result in improvement of your health.
