Introduction to Carnivore Diet.


Carnivore diet is the polar opposite of vegetarian diet. While vegetarian diet aim to eat less animal product or even remove them entirely, carnivore diet entirely focus on meat and other animal products and remove all other foods.

Proponent of this diet claimed that this diet is beneficial to assist weight loss, blood sugar regulation, mood issues and other health related issues. Despite this claimed benefits, this diet is very restrictive and possibly unhealthy in the long term. Moreover, there are no researches that support the claimed benefits.

In general, Carnivore Diet is a restrictive diet that only consumes animal products such as meat, fish, eggs and some dairy products. The practitioner of this diet removes all other type of foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, legumes and seeds.

The followers of this diet also encourage removing or limiting dairy intake to foods that are low in lactose and a sugar in milk and dairy products such as hard cheeses and butter.

The basic concept of Carnivore Diet comes from controversial belief that human ancestors mostly ate meat and fish. They also blame high-carb diets that common nowadays as the cause of high rates of chronic disease.

The biggest difference between Carnivore Diet and other form of low-carb diets such as Keto and Paleo is that Carnivore diet is have more extreme attitude towards carbs. While the other two only limit carbs, Carnivore diets remove them entirely.

To conclude, the practice of Carnivore Diet only focuses on meat and animal products. Therefore other types of food are excluded. There are many claims about it health benefits but there is no research that could back these claims.
